You will depart the United States from Fort Lauderdale for Bimini, which will be your port of entry to the Bahamas. Bimini was one of Ernest Hemingway's favorite places. His "Islands in the Stream" is based upon his island exploits.
Bimini is world famous for deep sea fishing.
The waters of this little chunk of the Bahamas , barely 7 miles long
and only 700 feet wide, spawn some of the largest game fish in the world.
You will stay at The Bimini Big Game Fishing Club & Hotel for two
nights.
Among the many beautiful nature sights you will see the remarkable preserve
of coral reefs, white sand beaches and fascinating marine life. Bimini's
past is linked to the lost city of Atlantis, where many scientists have
searched for clues of the ancient stone monoliths called the "Bimini Road."
The main town called Alice Town, is a quaint village with lots of character and colorful strawmarkets, excellent resorts and friendly rsidents. Part of the adventure to getting to Bimini, is like stepping back into history or jumping into a "Indiana Jones" movie. You will see much of this on your half day personally guided tour, followed by a beautiful picnic lunch.
